Kosha Dillz Turns Romantic Indecision Into Indie-Pop Fun on “Are You The One”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Kosha Dillz transforms an unexpected concert experience into a charming search for love in his forties.

I know this might sound a little strange, but one thing I appreciate immensely about Kosha Dillz is that he seems to have fun making and performing music. Now, he is back with “Are You The One,” a single that gives him space to experiment.

“Are You The One” is driven by a springy indie-pop beat with a lively tempo and a feel-good energy that music lovers can appreciate. The inspiration came after Kosha received free tickets to a Phish show at Madison Square Garden. While the music did not completely connect with him, the community and experience sparked a pop-rap ballad about searching for love in his forties.

Lyrically, Kosha wonders whether someone he met at the show could be the one, even though they appear just as picky and indecisive as he is. His writing turns romantic uncertainty into something funny, honest, and easy to understand.

Kosha maintains his cool demeanor, but he also adds a playful melody that comes alive during the hook. His verses feature a relentless flow, while every lyric arrives clearly and concisely.

“Are You The One” is upbeat, charming, and proof that Kosha still enjoys trying something different.
