Top 5 Stories of the Day (10/13): Snoh Aalegra, Taylor Swift & Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan’s “expectations” remix leads today’s rundown alongside Taylor Swift’s chart projection, Quavo’s album debut, and more.

5. Troye Sivan’s “She’s The Best” Projected for a Top 20 Debut

Troye Sivan’s She’s The Best is aiming for a No. 20 debut on the Billboard 200 with 23,000 first-week units projected. If the forecast holds, the project will open inside the Top 20.

While Troye has been bubbling these past few years, this feels like the album where he fully comes of age. It’s cohesive, meaningful, and striking. Worst-case scenario, I’m sure you liked the album cover, right? Yeah. All in all, this is a great next step for Troye.

4. Snoh Aalegra Announces “Karma” for October 14

Snoh Aalegra has announced that her new single, “Karma,” arrives tomorrow, October 14.

Snoh teased “Run Free” last week alongside a gorgeous trailer and announced that a new album is on the way. We still don’t know much about the project, but this latest single gives fans another reason to get excited. Her first project since 2021 is finally starting to feel close.

3. Quavo’s ‘QRÖMELIFE’ Debuts at No. 103

Quavo’s QRÖMELIFE officially debuts at No. 103 on the Billboard 200 with 13,000 units.

And just like that, another full Pharrell-produced project doesn’t sound all that exciting to me. Even with big-name features and a legend handling the production, this album barely made a dent on the Billboard charts. First-week numbers aren’t what they used to be for many artists, so some perspective is needed. But this still feels like Quavo stepping up to the plate, only to ground out instead of hitting a home run.

2. Taylor Swift Heads Toward Another Billboard 200 Milestone

Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ is projected to spend a 15th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with more than 91,000 units expected this week, according to Nora Music Inc. If the projection holds, it will mark Swift’s 101st career week at No. 1.

Can you imagine dropping something for fun and it landing you at number one yet again? Taylor is a beast.
