Showtek Escapes the Ordinary With “Runaway”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

An uplifting EDM single that’s perfect for car rides, dancefloors, and everything else in between.

Dutch production duo Showtek (aka brothers Wouter Janssen and Sjoerd Janssen) are a world-renowned twosome best known for hits like “Booyah,” “Bad,” and “Your Love.” More recently, the pair teamed up with creator Kieran Shudall, the frontman for the British indie band Circa Waves, who goes by the moniker Francis Waves here. Together, the trio created the EDM single “Runaway” and its accompanying official lyric video.

Serving up a glossy, high-energy blend of bright synths, ear-pleasing textures, and catchy beats, “Runaway” goes beyond what’s expected from Showtek, delivering a sweet, stylish genre fusion of hard dance and British indie pop. Lyrics like “Woman and man / Lines in the sand / Begging you just to stay” share an uncomplicated narrative about a promise to break away from the ordinary and risk it all for love.

Fueled by a bliss-inducing, atmospheric sound and passion-filled, emotionally charged vocals courtesy of Kieran Shudall, “Runaway” is an uplifting EDM single from Showtek and Francis Waves that’s perfect for car rides, dance floors, and everything in between.

“Runaway” is a lush, euphoric escape. Crank up the volume, close your eyes, and experience the vivid hues of neon pinks, midnight blues, and violets, along with just a hint of melancholic late-night vibes. Its unmatched energy instantly draws you in and refuses to let go. So press play and let the artists lead you into a fantastical, immersive world where all things are possible.
