Even though Griselda is hanging by a thread, folks are still making good music out here.
Has Griselda crumbled? Maybe. Probably. Whatever the situation looks like, some members still sound excited to work together. Armani Caesar links with Benny The Butcher on “Sephora In Ibiza,” giving us another preview of her upcoming project, THE LIZ 3.
The production is chilling, gritty, and menacing, with enough rhythm for both rappers to get their bars off comfortably. What I find interesting is how unbothered they sound. Their deliveries have this mad-scientist quality, like they’re dissecting the beat and quietly explaining why every incision was necessary. Neither needs to yell to make a point.
Armani talks about how fly she is and makes it clear that her detractors aren’t ruining her afternoon. Benny follows by addressing criticism of his flow, reminding folks that he’s still scorching hot in the streets. I’m glad he brought that up, especially since he actually switches his flow on this track.
Armani sets things up nicely, Benny adds something worthwhile, and the beat keeps everything cold. I’m a fan.
