Stream Chief Keef’s “The Leek Vol. 6” (Ft. OJ Da Juiceman & Tadoe)

I would’ve loved to hear a mixtape full of ‘Bang Bangs’ from Chief Keef on The Leek 6, but instead, you get music from the Chicago rapper that is experimental, heavy on the trap side, and quite frankly, plain ole bad… If you are a music fan, I encourage you to enjoy the journey that comes with listening to this tape, but keep in mind, this probably won’t be Illmatic 2. Problem is one of those dudes that can hold his own on a song, but in his new “S2” album, he asks for just about every one in the game for assistance; I’m talking Diddy, Fabolous, French Montana, Dave East, Casanova, Wiz Khalifa, Iamsu!, YBN Cordae, Nick Grant, Rucci, Mozzy, 03 Greedo, 1TakeJay and Saviii 3rd. You know what, maybe saying who was NOT on this project would’ve been the easier route to take (Geez)… (more…)

Peewee Longway (One of the greatest names in rap history) has been in the game for quite some time — so much so that he is on mixtape number 14! Interestingly enough, I think with the way the rap game is setup now, he has a great chance to succeed with this “State Of The Art” project. Having features such as Quavo, Offset, Plies, Young Nudy and more definitely helps his case. (more…)

Stream Earl Sweatshirt’s “Some Rap Songs”

Earl Sweatshirt is back, folks! The Odd Future alum has decided to drop a brand new album called “Some Rap Songs” today, and based off of the few singles I’ve heard off of it, I expect bars, bars and more bars! I also expect him to touch on touchy topics like his famous father’s death and decision to take a hiatus from rap. But then again, I’ve learned that the best way to approach an Earl Sweatshirt project is to expect the unexpected.  (more…)

Lil Baby – Street Gossip (Album Review)

Lil_Baby_–_Street_Gossip.png

I’m not going to lie, I did not see Lil Baby’s rise to the top coming at all. Since releasing “That’s My Dawg” in 2017, he’s had a couple of singles and albums that did really well on the billboard charts. Today, the Atlanta native looks to keep his success going, releasing this thirteen track project called “Street Gossip” that might very well feature a version of the rapper that has his chest sticking out. Trey Songz – 11.28 (Album Review)

Whenever Trey Songz decides to hang up the mic, he will go down as one of the most successful singers of his era. I feel like for my generation, he broke down barriers, ushering in a style of R&B music that meshed pretty well with trendy hip hop. At the age of 34, I still think he has a couple of good years left in him, and with the release of “11/28,” a double-disc/star-studded project, it seems music execs and his peers think so, too.
