Aaliyah & The Weeknd Are A Perfect Match In “Poison”

Aaliyah & The Weeknd

RGM RATING (????????)

I have chills (I don’t think it’s coming from the booster shot I took today either).

In 2022, we might hear some new Aaliyah songs. According to the fallen singer’s uncle, a new posthumous album that features her vocals should hit streaming services soon. One of the reasons I am confident that this might happen is that a brand new single featuring Aaliyah and The Weeknd hit streaming services today.

The Weeknd and Aaliyah trade angelic verses in “Poison.” Painfully, the former’s verse sounds muddled, while the latter’s sounds as crisp as it gets. Whatever the case may be, I think that the sentiments of hopefulness and bittersweet connections that the two legends speak about should strike a chord with you.

Give “Poison” a shot below.
