Kevin Gates

Kevin Gates knows that he has our ears right now.

In the last two weeks, I’ve heard about three Kevin Gates songs. One of them was a freestyle in which he called out his wife Dreka Gates, and the other was an intro in which he proclaimed himself to be a certified street ninja. In “Metro,” his latest release, Gates comes across as a heartless individual that is always ready for war.

Very soon, Kevin Gates will release a new album called Khaza. While “Metro” will not end up on the project, I still think it’s an irresistible street banger that reiterates that he is one of the few rappers on this planet that got it out of the mud, that still plays in mud, and that probably eats mud sandwiches for lunch.

I can’t believe that Gates and I were born in the same city.
