Honorable Mention. WOAH (Ft. Lay Bankz)
A track tailor-made for TikTok.
I’ll be honest: this song doesn’t quite hit the mark for me. It feels a bit gimmicky and overly frantic. However, I can see its appeal with its energetic vibe and infectious performance by featured artist Lay Bankz (He actually gives a Chris Brown-like performance). Kyle’s verse, on the other hand, feels somewhat lackluster. Still, it’s worth listening to the track for the good things it offers.
5. The Sweetest Thing
I promised I wasn’t going to cry today.
This poignant and serene song is a tribute to a girl named Jada, whom Kyle appears to have hurt, as well as to his late father, whom he imagines residing in the clouds. While Kyle’s vocals may not reach Mariah Carey levels of prowess, his emotive delivery and the accompanying acoustic instrumentation are truly exceptional.
4. Suddenly
Another TikTok banger (What are n***as going to do when they ban that s**t?).
I personally think “Suddenly” features the best chorus on this album. The altered vocals are incredibly infectious, and the extended length of the chorus adds to its impact. Using a Jersey club beat gives the track a lively and energetic tempo, while Kyle’s heartfelt lyrics feel genuine and authentic. Overall, I consider this track the most organic on the album.
3. Neva Beta
I want to hear this track at a bougie club in Manchester.
I’m a big fan of runway hip-hop—it’s a subgenre that doesn’t get enough attention. “Neva Beta” perfectly embodies that vibe. The beat sets the stage for models strutting down the runway, and the hook, delivered with diva-like confidence, adds to the allure. But what really stands out is Kyle’s approach—he brings a cool demeanor, giving off a Rico Suave with a snaggle tooth vibe.
2. Who’s Taking You Home (Ft. Tinashe)
As long as it ain’t Charleston White, I’m good.
In “Who’s Taking You Home,” a lighthearted approach is taken to address a serious question. The track is filled with playful sound effects, sunny vibes, and catchy melodies, with Kyle delivering elementary school-level pick-up lines. All in all, the song stands out for its energetic feel and Kyle’s impressive singing performance. As for Tinashe, I don’t love how she was utilized.
1. Something About U (Ft. Teezo Touchdown)
KYLE and Teezo Touchdown make such a great duo.
In “Somethin Bout U,” KYLE and Teezo Touchdown let the world know how special their chicks are. Though I’m sure there are rated R reasons for why they think so, they definitely keep it PG lyrically, saying your typical lovey-dovey s**t.
Interestingly, “Somethin Bout U” starts off sounding like a 2023 version of LL Cool J’s “I Need Love” track but quickly morphs into this exciting, uptempo hip-hop/R&B banger that is very easy on the ears. As for the two artists, they hit us with infectious melodies that perfectly complement their soft vocals.

RGM RATING
(D+)
Kyle seems destined to create upbeat, youthful music that uplifts the spirits. While his latest work may not pack the same punch as his earlier releases, which is understandable given he’s a lot older now, it still radiates positive energy. That said, I wouldn’t classify SMYLE as exceptional, as it leans heavily on gimmicky Jersey Club music and unorthodox setups, it undeniably delivers feel-good vibes, catchy melodies, and lyrics that aim to resonate with listeners on the topic of relationships.
