Bad Flamingo Are Feeling “Numb”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Bad Flamingo, the ultra-mysterious duo, is a country-loving twosome. These masked musical creatives prefer to keep their real-life identities under wraps and are known simply as The One on the Left (handling vocals, guitar, bass, and banjo) and the One on the Right (managing vocals, banjo, autoharp, and tambourine). Embracing the enigmatic, Bad Flamingo draws inspiration from an Oscar Wilde quote: “Give a man a mask, and he will tell you the truth.” Among their past creations are tracks like “The Devil and the Deep Blue,” “White T Shirt,” “Mountain Road,” and “I Drink Alone.” Their latest release is the alternative rock single “Numb.”

With its wonderfully ambient mix of twangy guitars, mood-setting drum beats, and hauntingly seductive vocals, “Numb” paints a captivating Western-influenced soundscape that perfectly complements the duo’s latest dark narrative. Lyrics like “I drove by the steeple and I wanted to sin, And do all the things that people swear to stop doing” and “I stood on the balcony and I wanted to spit, To see how long it takes to hit” offer a stylishly crafted exploration of desire, longing, and the intricate nature of human emotions. Fueled by the duo’s distinctively mysterious noir vibe and plenty of beautifully delivered melancholic moments, Bad Flamingo once again presents a dark, gritty alternative rock masterpiece that’s delightfully wicked. So hit play and immerse yourself in the enchanting world of “Numb.”
