Kodak Black Says He’s “Stressed Out”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Kodak Black is an example of someone so real that sometimes his authenticity hinders his ability to perform his job effectively. I say this because Kodak Black’s songs haven’t been the greatest lately, but he has expressed many genuine sentiments in them. That said, the Pompano Beach rapper returned to the music scene today with a so-so but deep new track called “Stressed Out.”

In “Stressed Out,” Kodak Black outlines all the troubles he’s dealing with right now: not being able to see his kids as much, avoiding jail, and feeling devoid of blessings. Though I really like how bare the track sounds, boasting emotional production and a straight-up rap style, there is still that slurring Kodak does here and there that might throw you off. Overall, I do think the track is listenable and intriguing enough to appreciate.
