Nick Grant & BJ The Chicago Kid Call Out Their “Frienemies”

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Nick Grant and BJ The Chicago Kid explain why those who claim they are the closest to you stab you in the back the most.

Nick Grant can rap his ass off. This is not an opinion; it’s a fact. Personally, what I enjoy about him is that he tends to keep it 99+1 lyrically, while also flowing extremely well and spitting with the utmost confidence. Also, now, he’s a veteran in the game, so he gives off the vibes of someone who knows his s**t.

Last year, Nick Grant released a fantastic album called SUNDAY DINNER. Recently, he dropped a deluxe version of it, and one of the best tracks is “FRIENEMIES” featuring BJ The Chicago Kid.

Everyone has some frenemies in their lives, so this song should resonate with you. In “FRIENEMIES,” Nick Grant and BJ The Chicago Kid talk about losing friends to women, money, and more. The disappointment is oh-so evident as they reflect on cherishing the bonds they once had with these people. What I love about the track is that it features a smooth backdrop and serene vocals from BJ The Chicago Kid, while Nick delivers fiery, assertive raps. The combination results in a track that sounds dope as hell to me.

Jeezy put it perfectly: “Who needs friends? When you mix the baking soda up, you can get a Benz!”
