You get recklessness at a high level in “HIT.”
Yella Beezy, hailing from Dallas, Texas, embodies his hometown with a distinct Southern accent and a fierce pride for his city. Recently, he’s been in the news for some intriguing reasons. One story reported an altercation with a fellow Dallas native that almost escalated to gun violence, while another involved an incident with Chris Brown, where Beezy and Brown were allegedly involved in a confrontation at a tour stop. S**t, it seems like trouble often finds Beezy.
On Friday, Yella Beezy returned to the scene with new music, dropping a single titled “HIT” featuring Lil Wayne.
In “HIT,” Yella Beezy and Lil Wayne rap about loaded semis, stolen girlfriends, and inviting smoke from all directions. A menacing, booming beat with strong Southern vibes drives the track. As for Yella Beezy, he goes all out with a deranged, choppy flow, especially in the chorus, where he unloads a stream of gun-related words. Lil Wayne, on the other hand, delivers his verse with impressive speed and focus, showcasing his sharp skills. All in all, I really enjoyed this collab.
I can tell Yella Beezy likes hurting people.
