DaBaby Shines In “Can’t Keep Keisha”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

My ninja, do you mean Keisha Knight-Pullman from The Cosby Show?

Do you know what deserves some real acknowledgment and applause? The fact that DaBaby has stayed out of trouble for the past couple of years. Seriously, in a time when it feels like everyone in the industry is getting into legal trouble, the North Carolina rapper has managed to keep his lifestyle clean. Here’s the twist, though: his music is anything but. That said, “Can’t Keep Keisha” is one of his lighter releases.

No cap, this is my favorite DaBaby release in at least three years. In “Can’t Keep Keisha,” we get a more laid-back version of him, as he leans into chill vocals, a bit of crooning, and lyrics centered around a relationship where the girl was so good to him that he can’t get her out of his mind. He also touches on his major come-up, mentioning that he’s taken losses but is still big enough to be booked even in Pakistan. Despite the relaxed vibe, DaBaby brings his usual dynamic flows and sharp punchlines. All in all, this track is a banger I really vibe with.

This is about the tenth time I’ve said it, but DaBaby is officially back.
