I wouldn’t want beef with someone in a gang called Wu-Tung Clan.
Method Man recently found himself at the center of controversy after an alleged altercation at Staten Island’s Crunch Fitness. Reports claim the Wu-Tang Clan rapper, born Clifford Smith, punched 28-year-old Patrick Sokoya multiple times in the face “with a closed fist.” Rumors suggest the incident might be linked to Sokoya’s past relationship with Method Man’s daughter, which reportedly ended over a decade ago.
According to the victim, who filed a report, he experienced dizziness after the alleged assault but declined medical attention. However, conflicting reports state that Method Man was not formally arrested following the incident.
This isn’t the first time Method Man has faced legal trouble. In 2007, he was arrested for marijuana possession, and in 2009, he appeared in criminal court for failing to file New York State income taxes between 2004 and 2007.
Despite the headlines, Method Man remains active in the music scene. Recently, he featured on several tracks, including “Please Don’t Break My Heart” with Jhonni Blaze, “DBZ” with Your Old Droog & Denzel Curry, and “Lalala” alongside his longtime collaborator, Redman.
So I guess Method Man takes “Breaks Ups 2 Make Ups” very seriously.
