Murda Beatz, Big Sean & Babyface Ray Team Up on “Hood Politics”

Rating: 4 out of 5.

More respect needs to be given to Babyface Ray and Big Sean—they can both rap their asses off.

Murda Beatz is back at it, and this time he’s called on Detroit’s own Big Sean and Babyface Ray for a new heater titled “Hood Politics.” The track lives up to its name — it’s raw, layered, and filled with ass-kicking energy.

The beat is where things first grab you. Murda and Will A Fool whip up something that feels action-packed, almost like it belongs in a vintage Sonic the Hedgehog level. It’s hard-hitting and built to rattle speakers, setting the stage perfectly for the two Detroit heavyweights.

Babyface Ray steps in first with his laid-back delivery. He speaks about losing passion for rap, being worn down by his peers, counting long stacks (longer than Victor Wembanyama, as he puts it), and maintaining his preference for ratchet women. It’s delivered in his drowsy-but-steady tone that just works.

Big Sean comes next with full energy, firing off rapid bars about trust issues, moving like a boss, and refusing to waste time on people who don’t carry themselves right. His intensity is a nice contrast to Ray’s coolness. To wrap it all up, Ray slides back in with a relaxed chorus that ties the track together.

Overall, this is a rap gem that I recommend you listen to below.
