Tyla Delivers Catchy Pop Energy on “IS IT LOVE”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Tyla continues building her pop takeover with another catchy release.

Personally, there aren’t many Tyla tracks that I dislike. To me, she has an almost old-school approach to making hits, and she continues her run with “IS IT LOVE,” a new single from her upcoming album A*POP.

The production immediately stands out with smooth guitars, atmospheric synths, and a polished pop sound that feels warm, modern, and slightly moody.

Lyrically, Tyla questions how deep her partner’s love really is, on some Dru Hill s**t, searching for reassurance and wanting to see the emotion behind their words. What I enjoy is that she delivers the song with an almost detached tone while still creating a melody that feels incredibly infectious.

Every time Tyla makes a track like this, I’m always confused. Like, which dude is having a hard time convincing her that he loves her? For Christ’s sake, it’s Tyla!
