It was a massive week for music, and the numbers speak for themselves. Dave & Tems’ powerful collaboration “Raindance” from The Boy Who Played The Harp pulled in a staggering 2.07 million streams on Spotify in its opening day, making it the album’s top-streamed track. The success of this record helped push the entire project to 15.2 million opening-day streams.
Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion’s “LOVER GIRL” made a bold entrance with 674K streams, a testament to her steady dominance in rap and pop fusion. On the pop side, Lily Allen’s “West End Girl” exploded with 3.7 million streams in its first full day, marking one of her most successful streaming debuts in recent years.
Not to be overlooked, CupcakKe’s The BakKery earned 652K streams on its first day, further showing that independent artists can still pull major numbers when the music connects. Rising rapper Ian also made waves with 2005, earning 776K first-day streams.
