Offset says he dropped the album so he could get out of his deal. That explains a lot.
Offset’s latest album, Haunted By Fame, has officially missed the Billboard 200 this week — a first in the rapper’s solo career. The project sold just under 8,000 units in its first week, marking a steep drop from his previous releases.
The eleven-track record features guest appearances from NoCap, NBA YoungBoy, and Lil Dump. Currently, the most-streamed track from the project is “I HEARD” featuring NBA YoungBoy, which has accumulated just over 900,000 plays on Spotify since its release.
While the numbers may raise eyebrows, context is everything. Haunted By Fame arrived with no rollout, no singles, and zero real promotion — a rare move for an artist of Offset’s stature. The project dropped less than two months after KIARI, his previous album, which debuted with 29,000 first-week units and landed on the Billboard 200.
Considering the lack of buildup or awareness surrounding Haunted By Fame, its low numbers seem less like a fall-off and more like a low-key release that slipped under the radar. Offset’s fans were likely still digesting KIARI, making this sudden follow-up feel more like an experimental or transitional drop than a major statement.
It’s unclear whether Offset plans to push Haunted By Fame further with visuals or delayed promotion, but one thing’s certain — even with muted numbers, his output hasn’t slowed down.
Offset's 'Haunted By Fame' does not chart on this weeks Billboard 200, with less than 8K sold first-week.
