Kevin Gates & Rick Ross Reconnect for Ferocious “I’m A Dog” Remix

Rating: 3 out of 5.

So, when exactly was this song made? I’m very confused by its setup…

Kevin Gates and Rick Ross have always felt like rap cousins—two unapologetically Southern artists who say whatever the f**k they want, whenever they feel like it. So their decision to collaborate on a new remix of Gates’s classic “I’m A Dog” feels not just fitting, but overdue.

This revamped version still flips Rick Ross’s iconic “I’ma Boss” beat, and Gates wastes no time unleashing pressure. He calls out dudes who pillow talk, talks big about getting people touched, and doubles down on his grind. Gates spends most of the track in full beast mode, sprinkling in some melodic touches without losing an ounce of aggression.

Rozay steps in sounding like vintage Rozay—complete with grunts, a controlled but confident flow, and that unmistakable heavy breathing between flexes. His verse is filled with references to his wins, his wealth, and the boss lifestyle he’s built brick by brick.

Kevin Gates and Rick Ross remind me of uncles who say some extremely nasty s**t when they get you one-on-one.
