This might be the most enjoyable Destroy Lonely track I’ve ever heard.
Steve Aoki has spent years mastering loud, chaotic music designed to make people lose their s**t in crowded spaces. Whether you like EDM or not, the guy knows how to create tracks that sound engineered for flashing lights, overpriced drinks, and people who call off work on Mondays because of a case of the zooted.
Believe it or not, more than Drake dropped music last night. Folks were probably just too exhausted from that overload to notice songs like “Young,” which features BIA and Destroy Lonely.
“Young” contains one of my favorite beats of the year so far. The production is packed with massive synths, nonstop energy, and the kind of tempo built for clubs where nobody cares if they’re sweating through expensive clothes.
Destroy Lonely absolutely sets the tone, sliding across the production with two slick verses full of loose, reckless energy. Meanwhile, BIA attacks the chorus with enough adrenaline to power an entire Vegas nightclub for three hours straight.
This track is pure turn-up music. I almost threw myself out the window while I was listening to it in my dusty studio apartment.
