Drake Officially Makes Billboard History With Triple Album Top 3 Debut

Can you imagine passing Jay-Z and Michael Jackson in the same week?

Drake has officially made Billboard 200 history, becoming the first artist ever to simultaneously debut three albums within the chart’s top three positions. The achievement further extends what has already become one of the most commercially dominant runs the music industry has ever seen.

Leading the charge is ICEMAN, which debuted at No. 1 with 463K first-week units. The album now stands as Drake’s fifteenth No. 1 album, officially giving him the most chart-topping projects of any rapper in Billboard 200 history, surpassing Jay-Z. On top of that, the release marks Drake’s biggest debut since Certified Lover Boy and the largest first-week performance for a rap album since UTOPIA by Travis Scott.

Right behind ICEMAN are Drake’s two additional releases, HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR, which debuted at No. 2 and No. 3 with 114K and 110K first-week units, respectively. Combined, the three albums generated an incredible 687K total units in a single week.

What makes the feat even crazier is how distinct each project feels sonically. ICEMAN leans heavily into introspective rap performances and stripped-down production, with tracks like “Make Them Cry” showcasing Drake experimenting with lengthy, chorus-less song structures. Meanwhile, MAID OF HONOUR embraces a more energetic, party-driven sound, while HABIBTI dives into smoother, more R&B-focused territory.

As if surpassing Jay-Z wasn’t enough, Drake now also ties Taylor Swift for the most No. 1 albums by a solo artist in Billboard 200 history. This is wild.
