Shoutout to Chart Data, which just celebrated its 10-year anniversary.
For the first time ever, Chart Data and Apple Music have revealed the most-streamed artists in the platform’s history, and the results further prove just how dominant hip-hop has been during the streaming era.
While pop stars continue to command massive audiences, rap artists occupy a significant portion of the all-time rankings. Sitting comfortably at No. 1 is Drake, whose decade-plus run of chart dominance and nonstop releases has made him the most-streamed artist in Apple Music history. Whether it’s albums like Views, ICEMAN, and For All The Dogs or countless guest appearances, Drake’s catalog has become a permanent fixture in streaming culture.
Taylor Swift landed at No. 2 (Which makes perfect sense), while Future secured the No. 3 spot, which is a little surprising given his music is usually catered to trappers. Perhaps the most eye-opening placement belongs to YoungBoy Never Broke Again at No. 4. Despite receiving less mainstream attention than some of his peers, YoungBoy’s fanbase continues to stream his music at an incredible rate.
Bad Bunny rounds out the top five, representing Latin music’s massive global reach. Elsewhere in the top 20, artists such as Lil Baby, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and Ye further showcased hip-hop’s overwhelming presence on the platform.
The rankings ultimately highlight a simple reality: when it comes to streaming, few genres move the needle like rap. And at the center of it all remains Drake, the king of Apple Music’s streaming era.
