Bebe Rexha Responds After Fan Says Olivia Rodrigo Outsold Her

Bebe Rexha has told fans there is “no need to put women against each other” after a social media user compared her sales to Olivia Rodrigo’s.

Bebe Rexha has told fans to stop pitting female artists against each other after being told Olivia Rodrigo “outsold” her.

The singer penned a tribute to late star Oliver Tree, who she revealed had recorded a feature for her latest album Dirty Blonde—though it didn’t make the final cut—and one person decided to bring up the sales margins between the two female stars in the comments.

Bebe’s post read: “I’m in shock. I was in the middle of my CD signing in NYC when I found the news of Oliver Tree. I can’t believe it. We recorded a record together to be on Dirty Blonde. He was so smart, passionate, talented, kind. I’m so sad. May he rest in peace.”

An X user then informed Bebe: “Olivia outsold u btw.”

She responded: “I’m actually happy for her. No need to put women against each other. Stream DIRTY BLONDE for women empowerment. Livies X Rexhars.”

Bebe’s call for an end to the rivalry comes after she previously threatened to expose music industry scandals she has been “silenced” from speaking out about.

In 2024, the “I Got You” hitmaker claimed she was close to combusting after being forced to keep quiet about how she had been treated.

She raged on X: “I have been UNDERMINED. I’ve been so quiet for the longest time. I haven’t seen the signs even though people constantly are bringing them up, and they have been SO OBVIOUS. And when I have spoken up, I’ve been silenced and PUNISHED by this industry. Things must change, or I’m telling ALL of my truths. The good, the bad, and the ugly.”

The pop star later added: “It’s sadness. I’m sitting in my hotel room in London, crying my eyes out. I’ve felt hopeless for the longest time. I’ve been walking a lot through this city and meeting fans, and they have really ignited something inside of me.”

Her posts came after she took aim at her “Me, Myself & I” collaborator G-Eazy.

Laying into the rapper, she called him a “stuck-up, ungrateful loser” and said she would never collaborate with him again.

She wrote: “You have my number. Why don’t you text me and ask me yourself, you stuck up ungrateful loser.

“You’re lucky people are liking you again. Cause I could go in on all the s*** things you’ve done and how you treated me after giving you your only real hit [2015’s ‘Me, Myself & I’]. Btw the answer is no.”

Bebe later deleted posts related to G-Eazy, including one that read: “Bebe Rexha and Halsey talking about how they carried G-Eazy’s career.”

Switching from Instagram Story to X, she explained: “Someone from my team had me take down my Instagram Story.”
