Olivia Rodrigo continues to raise the bar.
When early projections suggested that you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love would debut with just over 300,000 units, it seemed likely that Olivia Rodrigo’s final first-week numbers could end up being much higher. Turns out, they were.
According to Hits Daily Double, Olivia Rodrigo’s latest album is now projected to debut with 470,000 units, securing the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 and marking the biggest debut of her career.
The updated projection makes you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love the biggest Billboard 200 debut by a soloist in 2026, surpassing Drake’s ICEMAN, which previously held the record with 463,000 units.
The massive opening isn’t surprising given the momentum surrounding the project. Singles like “drop dead” and “the cure” built strong streaming numbers ahead of release, while Olivia’s fanbase has continued expanding with each new era.
The album’s debut also puts it comfortably ahead of her previous projects, SOUR and GUTS. Those albums established Olivia as one of pop’s biggest names, but this release appears to push her even further into superstar territory.
If these projections hold, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love will be a career-defining moment for Olivia Rodrigo.
