It feels like this track could be a reset for Quavo.

Quavo is getting ready to release his new single “TRANCE” this Friday, and there are a few reasons I’m actually pretty excited about this one.

First and foremost, Pharrell is behind the production. Pharrell has been on fire lately, producing T.I.’s now-platinum single “Let Em Know” and one of Lil Baby’s standout records, “Dead Fresh,” so I’m definitely curious to hear what he cooked up with Quavo.

The music video is also already in the can, with Quavo filming the video in Spain during their celebration of the World Cup final.

It’s also been a while since Quavo released an album. Believe it or not, his last full-length project was Rocket Power, his Takeoff tribute album. Since then, Quavo has continued experimenting with different genres, sounds, and styles, so “TRANCE” could give us another look at where he wants to take his music next.

The timing is also interesting because Quavo has been in the news recently after Young Thug revealed that he wants to sign him, with Quavo eventually acknowledging that the two are looking to start a label together.

So yeah, there’s plenty happening around Quavo right now. Let’s see what “TRANCE” sounds like.
