NAV and Young Thug Reunite for Wheezy-Produced Single “WOAH”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Didn’t I hear this track in 2021?

NAV and Young Thug are locked in. Earlier this year, they dropped “Trimski.” The single may have flown under the radar, but it still pulled in nearly 10 million streams on Spotify. Now, the duo is back with “WOAH,” a Wheezy-produced collaboration that puts their chemistry front and center.

Eh… “WOAH” features the kind of mechanical trap production that sounds factory-made. As for Young Thug, he sets the tone with strong-arming raps about pushin’ P, stepping on his opps, and keeping chicks badder than the sequel to The Blair Witch around him. What I love is how Thugger rides the beat like he is trying to pull its card, attacking every pocket with great confidence.

NAV follows with a pretty solid performance. While maintaining his signature cool demeanor, he toys with a relentless flow that injects extra life into the track and turns things up several notches.

Does “WOAH” give us anything new? Not at all. The production, flex-heavy lyrics, and contrasting deliveries live within familiar trap territory. However, hearing NAV and Young Thug reconnect is worthwhile since their styles naturally complement each other. I’m not mad at this track… I’m just a little bored.
