More people should have fun when they create. I can honestly say it sounds like WILDHRT has fun every time he makes music. On his latest single, “EXCEPTIONAL,” you can practically hear him having a blast.
The track runs on an explosive instrumental that throws rock, hip-hop, and cinematic flair into a boiling hot crockpot. There is a lot happening, but WILDHRT never sounds overwhelmed. He surfs over the chaos with a rap performance that is energetic, poised, and engaging, then drops a chorus catchy enough to follow you out of the room.
Lyrically, he talks about reaching his goals, enjoying life, and being fully confident in himself. That attitude is what makes the track work for me. He isn’t just telling you to feel good; he sounds like someone who already does and wants you to join him.
WILDHRT said he wanted to make a hip-hop and rock fusion he would play at the gym or hear in a commercial. I can picture both, but I can also imagine “EXCEPTIONAL” soundtracking the wildest scene in a cartoon movie. Play this around a room full of Debby Downers and watch at least one of them crack a smile.
