EZ MIL and Eminem Unleash Relentless Bars on “MADARA”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Eminem has PSAs on songs these days.

Eminem clearly loves him some EZ MIL. Since signing the Filipino-American rapper to Shady Records, he has consistently placed him in strong positions to succeed, including an appearance on his last album. Now, the two reconnect on “MADARA,” a collaboration designed around both artists’ strengths.

The production is dark, dramatic, and menacing enough to accompany a horror movie. EZ MIL sets the tone with a gritty performance, shifting through dynamic flows while flexing his competitive side with almost divine confidence.

Tokyo MC Hideyoshi then brings Japanese bars into the record, strengthening its cross-cultural identity. Neil Kaplan, the English-dub voice actor for Naruto villain Madara Uchiha, also delivers an interlude that pushes the song’s villainous concept even further.

Eminem arrives towards the end sounding like an AI-generated version of himself that has somehow retained permission to kick ass, take names, and wild out. That may sound strange, but it works. His wordplay is unbelievable, his tongue-twisting flows remain sharp, and he reflects on meeting Dr. Dre, his rise, and receiving praise at shows.

Considering this is Eminem’s first verse of 2026, he does not sound rusty whatsoever. However, I’m going to need him to turn down the yapping just a little bit…

I first became a fan of Florence Road when I saw them open for my other favorite band, The Last Dinner Party. I’m obsessed with all of their discography, but “Wish Upon You” is one of their best yet. Apparently, they hadn’t even planned on making it. It just happened in the studio during a recording session for a different song, and I’m very glad it did.
