I’ve always had respect for individuals that simply love music. Idris Elba is one of those individuals that loves music, and in “The Yardie Mixtape,” he plays curator to a fourteen track body of work that never lets up in cinematic vibes. (more…)

Jaden – ERYS (Album Review)

capture

“ERYS” is “SYRE” spelled backwards. “SYRE” is Jaden’s middle name and the title of his debut album. For some bizarre reason, I have a feeling “ERYS” will end up being “SYRE’s” evil shadow (OK, watching “US” before rating this album was a bad idea). (more…)

Dreamville’s highly anticipated “Revenge Of The Dreamers III” album has finally arrived! Just like any other sequel, it features crazy plot twists, talented C-list guest appearances, and most importantly, an impressive showing by the franchise’s head honcho. Man, I love sequels so much! (more…)

Stream Skinnyfromthe9 & Fetty Wap’s “Skinny Wit The Zoo”

img_4496

Skinnyfromthe9 and Fetty Wap both hail from New Jersey, and also, both sing their asses off whenever they make music. In “Skinny Wit The Zoo,” the two glass-breakers unite for a short body of work that I consider explosive, auto-tune-abusive, and most importantly, useless when it comes to subject-matters and content. I don’t know why you would want to click play on it, but hey, whatever floats your boat. (more…)

Chris Brown – Indigo (Album Review)

img_4428

On “Heartbreak On A Full Moon,” Chris Brown’s last album, he gifted us with a whopping 45 tracks; “Indigo” only has 32, so it looks like he decided to tone things down a bit. All jokes aside, Chris is known to give it his all whenever he creates music, so I expect to be entertained from start to finish regardless of the project’s length. (more…)

Stream B.o.B’s “Southmatic”

img_4436

I hate to say it, but B.o.B’s career is hanging on for dear life. After releasing a beyond solid debut in “The Adventures of Bobby Ray,” things went south for the Atlanta rapper (Ironically), with these last 2-3 years being completely rock bottom for him. With all the anticipation, famous hip-hop friends and automatic club spins now gone, B.o.B. has decided to retool his artistry, gifting us with a body of work in “Southmatic” that is versatile and pretty genre-less.    (more…)
