Kevin Gates is an emotional-ass n***a. More times than not, he lets his heart bleed in the music that he makes. With that being said, on “Still Hold Up,” we get a version of Gates that is unguarded.
“Still Hold Up” boasts this riveting trap beat that gasses Kevin Gates up to be this open book that isn’t afraid to talk about his jail days, his relationship with GOD, his fake friends, and his unflappable demeanor. While you’re going to like the ferociousness that Gates raps with on the song, you’re going to love how he holds nothing back lyrically.
Kevin Gates should have a talk show. (I can see him being a black Dr. Phil)
