RGM RATING (????????)

A smooth, soulful single that speaks straight from the heart.

Canberra, Australia native, Jedbrii, is a 28-year-old singer and rapper with ten years of experience in the industry. Since his debut, Jedbrii has covered a wide variety of topics; these include love, heartbreak, struggles with addiction, political messages, and philosophy. Similar to his diverse themes, his style includes everything from neo-soul, R&B, hip-hop, trap, and drill, to drum or bass-influenced sounds. These creatively mixed tracks are available on his Spotify, YouTube, and SoundCloud. Jebrii’s latest drop is the R&B single “You” and its accompanying lyric video.

The background is dreamy. “You” offers plenty of lighthearted guitar-laden instrumentals to accompany its intimate reminisce. Additionally, Jedbrii spends time reflecting on the pain that comes from losing someone you love; Lyrics like “My stupid mind just thought that you would walk away, leaving me in pain” and “But I still pray to God that you go change your mind” are delivered with sincere, melodic vocals. However, Jedbrii shares his fears as well as his desire to reconnect with his ex-love, and his tone reflects this beautifully. Similarly, the beat is soulful and keeps us from being too joyful. With plenty of heartfelt moments, this song is the perfect medicine for anyone who’s ever needed to mend a broken heart. So, hit play, and put Jedbrii’s “You” on your breakup playlist.
