G Herbo & Southside Link Up For “Subject”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

There’s a unique feeling of freedom that comes with wrapping up a legal case and returning to one’s passion. G Herbo experienced just that. Back in 2020, Herbo and several associates faced charges including wire fraud and identity theft. While he admitted guilt to certain charges, he avoided jail time and settled with a fine. With his legal matters resolved, Herbo wasted no time in getting back to his music. On Friday, he marked his return with the release of a new single alongside Southside titled “Subject.”

In “Subject,” G Herbo sticks to his familiar themes of intimidation and self-promotion. He boasts about his marksmanship, reflects on his success story, and expresses frustration about questions regarding his legal troubles. The track stands out for its straightforward approach, lacking a traditional hook or intricate melodies. Instead, it offers raw, intense bars over dark, hard-hitting production, creating a vibe that feels like an unfiltered vent session.

Herbo is back on his gully.
