When thugs start asking questions, I get nervous.
Nardo Wick is one of those rappers who will never get the full recognition he deserves. Much like Ace Hood—another artist who hasn’t received enough credit for his impact on hip-hop—Wick has introduced styles that superstar rappers have borrowed. Give that man his flowers!
When we last heard from Nardo, he was linking up with BossMan Dlow for their collaboration track “Oh Shit.” Today, he’s back with an unexpected twist: a love song called “I Wonder.”
Yes, you read that right—”I Wonder” is a love song. In it, the Florida rapper asks his girl a series of questions, including why she likes him so much. He also touches on themes of protection and deep affection, showing a more vulnerable side of himself. But don’t get it twisted—the track still carries one of the hardest, most vintage Gucci Mane-style beats I’ve heard in a while. And while Nardo delivers his lines with a slightly softer tone, his delivery remains as cold as ever, like he’s picking off flower petals with the barrel of his gun. Awwwww.
I will never understand why women fall in love with thugs.
