Ebubé Delivers One of the Year’s Best Slow Jams with New Single “Lay With Me”

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Ebubé can sing his ass off.

When the name Ebubé pops up, two things come to mind: it’s a Nigerian name, and it belongs to one of the most promising voices in modern R&B. While many artists claim to be great singers, Ebubé actually proves it—track after track. Interestingly, he was once preparing for a career in medicine before fully committing to music. That precision and dedication seem to have carried over into his artistry, as he crafts R&B tracks that feel deliberate, complex, and emotionally rich.

Ebubé’s catalog already boasts hits like “Where I Wanna Be” and “For You, Love,” but his latest single, “Lay With Me,” might just be his most captivating release yet.

In his second single of the year, “Lay With Me,” Ebubé dives into sensual territory, painting a vivid picture of emotional and physical intimacy. With deep crooning, dynamic pitch shifts, and a slow-burning instrumental, he creates a lush soundscape perfect for late-night listening. The track focuses on how he intends to care for his partner—mentally and physically—emphasizing deep connection over surface-level attraction.

Sensual, vulnerable, and incredibly well-produced, “Lay With Me” easily earns its place as one of the best slow jams of the year. If you’re building an R&B playlist, this one deserves a spot.
