The Sinners soundtrack is already looking so good.

Ludwig Göransson and Don Toliver dropped a new single together on April 18th, and it was nothing like what I expected. The track comes from the soundtrack of the upcoming movie Sinners, and it has a unique, old-fashioned feel.

“Flames of Fortune” leans heavily into a folksy sound with deep country influences, but it still weaves in subtle touches of modern pop and hip-hop. The instrumentation immediately caught my attention—you can hear layers of string instruments and even harmonica-like tones. It’s a track that feels beautiful and serene, yet also soulful and slightly eerie.

Overall, it’s not the kind of sound I’d usually expect from a Don Toliver feature—but I’m definitely not mad at it. The track works surprisingly well, and now I’m even more hyped to see the film.
