Denzel Curry is making waves online after boldly declaring that mainstream rap is “dead” and calling out both old and new generations of rappers in a fiery new statement.

Denzel Curry isn’t holding back. The Florida rapper recently took to social media to share his unfiltered thoughts on the state of hip-hop, saying that “mainstream rap is dead” and “we don’t need another Big 3.”

“Sh*t was trash from the jump,” Curry wrote. “Some of you sound more ass than what you’re trying to imitate.”

He also touched on the generational divide within the rap community, saying, “OGs got no respect for the younger generation; New Generation don’t care bout the craft.” Despite the criticism, Curry made it clear that there’s potential for unity and growth, adding that there’s space for both generations to learn from each other.

Curry also criticized how image often outweighs substance in today’s mainstream, noting that while rappers may “dress cool,” they need to “sound good too.”

The statement sparked a heated debate across social media platforms, with fans both defending and agreeing with his take on the current rap scene.
