JPEGMAFIA never takes the traditional route when he makes tracks.
JPEGMAFIA feels like the Draymond Green of hip-hop. He is constantly irritating people, saying things that spark chaos online, and throwing elbows at the culture, yet somehow remains too important and talented for anyone to fully dismiss. Whether you love him or hate him, the man clearly has a permanent seat at the table.
Recently, Peggy announced a new album called Experimental Rap, and while discussing the project in interviews, he took aim at rappers he believes casually throw around the word in ways that damage the culture. Naturally, that sparked immediate conversation. At the same time, he also dropped two new singles, including “War Over Land.”
The track feels heavy from the jump. Light guitars, somber piano notes, and orchestral elements slowly build tension, creating an almost funeral-like atmosphere. JPEGMAFIA approaches the track with a serious tone, delivering bars about revenge, fake tough guys, and maintaining leverage over people around him.
Structurally, “War Over Land” feels more like an intro or mood piece than a traditional single. There is no real chorus, only one long verse before the production mutates into rebellious rock moments mixed with eerie church-like sounds. The whole thing feels tense, messy, and intentionally confrontational.

Quincy is the creator of Ratings Game Music. He loves writing about music, taking long walks on beaches, and spaghetti that fights him back.
