Yeat returns with booming production, strange vocals, and plenty of Minion-themed references throughout.
Nobody is pressing play on a Yeat song expecting deep storytelling or life-changing revelations. People show up for the booming production, the wild vocal performances, and the feeling that complete chaos is somehow being held together by duct tape. “Million Dollar Minion” delivers exactly that.
The track serves as Yeat’s latest contribution to the Minions universe as Minions & Monsters gears up for its July 1 release. After previously appearing on Minions: The Rise of Gru with “Rich Minion,” Yeat returns for another soundtrack placement that feels almost too obvious to fail.
The production kicks ass. It’s the kind of beat that feels powerful enough to shake loose whatever has been collecting dust in your attic for years. Over it, Yeat delivers his signature performance style, constantly switching voices, bending words, and sounding like he’s on his second exorcism this week.
Lyrically, there’s not much depth here. Most of the bars revolve around money, status, and a few Minion-themed references. Still, Yeat finds a few enjoyable pockets throughout the track, making it a decent head-nodder even if it doesn’t offer much beyond that.
Will I be playing the track again? Hell no. But the kids might love it, and remember, everything we do these days is for the kids!
