Tonight, Nipsey Hussle and Bino Rideaux’s Prolific project will hit streaming services, and this is a pretty special moment. Believe it or not, it will mark Nipsey’s first project since Victory Lap. Right before its release, we got a chance to hear one of the album’s most notable songs, “I Just Wanna Know,” featuring Cardi B and Ty Dolla $ign.

“I Just Wanna Know” comes with Cali-inspired production that is smooth, packed with those signature snaps, and carries the kind of summery energy that makes you want to grab a drink and be around joints badder than what the Celtics got back for Jaylen Brown.

Nipsey sets the tone with an unapologetic verse, delivering bars about being around a chick who is down to get demonic early and often. His chorus is catchy, too, while Ty Dolla $ign provides some smooth backup vocals.

Cardi B takes the baton with a whispery delivery, channeling her stripper days by talking about all the immaculate things she can do on a pole. As for Bino, he closes things out with a reckless performance that will give you flashbacks to when your homie would get separated from the crew five minutes into the club night to indulge in mayhem. Respectfully, I didn’t love his part.

For me, this is an undeniable hit because it doesn’t try to do too much. We need more people to approach tracks like this.
