Did Lefty Gunplay just accidentally make a new West Coast anthem?
I think we can all agree that Lefty Gunplay has one of the hardest names in hip-hop history. One thing I’ve been pleasantly surprised by is how solid of a rapper he actually is. I mean, I first heard him on “tv off,” and he only said a few things. Since then, I’ve heard more of his music, and the dude can spit. In “Just Another Day,” he gives us another solid performance.
The track features a chill, Cali-flavored beat with tons of bass. It’s the type of s**t that would go crazy on a porch or blasting from a car with lowriders. As for Lefty, he delivers confident, trill verses about his savage ways, thanking God for making it out of the trenches, and blowing up unexpectedly.
I love the bravado he raps with because he sounds completely comfortable in his skin. I also rock with the simple but catchy chorus. It doesn’t do anything overly complicated, but it gets the job done.
Lefty Gunplay and AZ Chike are two dudes LA should be excited about.
