Adanna Duru’s “The Way” Is A Serenade For Self-Love

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Adanna Duru, a singer-songwriter based in California, brings a laidback, witty persona and funky-pop melodies in her tunes that offer a fresh perspective on life experiences. Her musical journey began with appearances on popular singing reality shows like The Voice and “American Idol. Recently, Adanna released her latest single, “The Way,” from her new EP, NAPPY HOUR II.

In “The Way,” Adanna’s open-wound scars from past trauma and insecurities reopen with each guitar strung. Though the pop ballad uses the simplistic sounds of guitar and lingers of soft pop, her lyrics prove to be an emotional gut punch for fans. Despite her suffering from pain that led her to doubt her self-worth, Adanna heals by accepting the pain and loving herself again. I know people aren’t big fans of ballads, but this beautiful ballad inspires fans to love themselves instead of focusing on the pain.

Once again, if you ever need a reminder to love yourself unconditionally, Adanna Duru’s “The Way” is here to help.
