Ultraviolet by Clover County: Perfect to start fall!

A hauntingly good time!

The way I would describe Clover County’s brand-new song “Ultraviolet” is aesthetic! Summer is long over, now it’s time to welcome fall.

The music video reminds me of a horror movie, complete with darker lighting in a foreboding looking kitchen, and a nostalgic VHS vibe that is perfect for the quick oncoming Halloween. The video is even framed to make it look like she is on a TV screen, which I think is excellent touch.

This horror setting matches the melancholic lyrics about struggling to help others when you can’t even help yourself. My personal highlights are: “The silence came, creeping in slowly, asleep in bed, you’re still sweetly glowing,” and “When the moon’s high and you come alive, I’ve waited up for the longest time, ink stains inside my mind, I’m a victim of my own design.”

Despite how foreboding the lyrics are, it does actually match the surprisingly cheerful sounding instrumentals, the juxtaposition is actually helpful for the vibes this song gives off.

Clover County’s Ultraviolet is out now on all major platforms, with her Porch Lights” EP out on November 15th.
