It’s a full-blown women’s takeover on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 this week, with Olivia Rodrigo and Ella Langley completely dominating the charts.
5. Olivia Rodrigo – drop dead
Olivia Rodrigo’s “drop dead” kicked off her new era explosively, and even after the album arrived, the song has continued to be one of the biggest fan favorites. After reaching No. 1 and spending 10 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, it’s shaping up to be one of Olivia’s longest-running singles.
4. Olivia Rodrigo – stupid song
You know you’re unstoppable when a song literally called “stupid song” can become a Top 5 Billboard Hot 100 hit for two straight weeks. While the track dropped one spot from last week, there’s really no reason to feel bad for Olivia. Her album has held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 for two weeks, and she currently has two songs sitting inside the Top 5.
3. Ella Langley – Be Her
Ella Langley’s dominance on the Billboard Hot 100 is incredible to watch. It’s always exciting to see fresh faces take over the charts, and this week she has two songs in the Top 5. One of those tracks is “Be Her,” which continues its impressive climb.
After spending 19 weeks on the chart, “Be Her” has steadily built momentum and is now back inside the Top 3 after briefly falling out. Even crazier, its biggest competition for the No. 1 spot is actually Ella’s own song, “Choosin’ Texas.” That is f**king awesome.
2. Taylor Swift – I Knew It, I Knew You
Taylor Swift’s latest hit, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” has slipped one spot after spending two consecutive weeks at No. 1. While the song’s success is anything but surprising (it’s Taylor Swift, after all), it still feels like a bit of a house-money moment for her. At this point, I’m sure whatever money she made from it is just going toward some tiny little wedding gift for herself.
1. Ella Langley – Choosin’ Texas
“Choosin’ Texas” has officially become an unstoppable force on the Billboard charts. After briefly losing the top spot for a few weeks, the track has somehow climbed back to No. 1. It has now spent 36 weeks on the chart, including 11 weeks at the top. I also like to add that I have listened to the track 100 times in the past week, so I’m sure that also helps its numbers.
