Two rappers walked into the studio with something to prove, and surprisingly, it wasn’t bad.
Does a G-Eazy and Logic collaboration in 2026 automatically sound like the hardest thing ever? Probably not. However, the good news is that both artists are capable of making a comeback, and “Flashing Before Your Eyes” feels like a step in that direction.
The track stands out because of its unique production. Built around handclaps, a vintage sample that gives me images of that old-school restaurant that sells Pop-Tarts, funky rhythms, and DJ scratches, the instrumental feels nostalgic while still having enough energy to keep things moving. Over the beat, G-Eazy and Logic reflect on their journeys, the work they’ve put in, their confidence, and their belief that they can still compete with anyone in the game.
G-Eazy brings a slick, slightly distorted delivery that carries a bit of emotion, while Logic comes through with one of his more aggressive performances in recent memory (I’m not going to lie, as a lifetime Logic hater, I think he was f**king awesome on the track).
Overall, “Flashing Before Your Eyes” is a cool record. It may not immediately grab you on the first listen, but once the pieces come together, the collaboration starts to make more sense.
