“Choosin’ Texas” has officially surpassed Post Malone and 21 Savage’s “rockstar” as the longest-running No. 1 hit in U.S. Spotify chart history. Before Ella’s record-breaking run, “rockstar” held the crown with 125 total days atop Spotify’s daily American ranking.

That was not some random record waiting to be broken, either. Released in 2017, “rockstar” was one of the biggest songs of the streaming era. It helped solidify Post Malone as a superstar, gave 21 Savage another enormous crossover moment, and remained nearly impossible to escape for months. Now, perhaps the greatest country song of all time has pushed it aside.

“Choosin’ Texas” has become the kind of hit that refuses to disappear. The track has dominated streaming, radio, social media, and the Billboard Hot 100 while turning Ella into one of music’s most recognizable new stars. On top of that, her Dandelion album is currently one of the highest selling of the year.

Reaching No. 1 is difficult enough. Remaining there for more than 125 days requires an entirely different level of popularity, consistency, and listener loyalty.

Post Malone and 21 Savage’s record survived for nearly a decade. Ella did not merely approach it—she ran through it.
