Juice WRLD’s journey to success has been quite an interesting one. At 19 years old, he popped into the scene with two billboard hits in “Lucid Dreams” and “All The Girls Are The Same.” From there, he dropped a solid project in “Goodbye & Good Riddance.” Each step of the way, Juice was a relative unknown, but the passion and emotion he plugged into his music made him one of those intriguing artists you wanted to know more about. If you fast forward to today, we’ve practically gotten a chance to hear the Chicago rapper on everything from joint albums with Future to a remix to a pop song with Halsey in the last year. Juice has made that next step to superstardom, which I predicted would have an impact on his music; would it be a positive impact or a negative impact, though? I guess we’ll find out with “Death Race For Love.”

You wanna know when I realized that Gunna was one of the hottest rappers in the game? When he appeared on both Mariah Carey and Usher’s albums within’ a month’s span. It’s obvious the hip-hop world is enamored with YSL’s whole drippy movement, and there is nothing Logic or I can do about it. I’m not afraid to admit that I love me some Kehlani! Her youthful style of R&B music has been very enjoyable to listen to these last couple of years. With that being said, for the last few months, a lot of growing up has occurred for the Oakland product outside of music. For starters, she is expecting her first child any minute now, and secondly, she has found a way to deal with the ups and downs that come with having a relationship in the media’s spotlight a lot better. In my opinion, these transgressions has certainly impacted her music, which is why I believe “While We Wait” will show the world a completely different side of the singer. (more…)

In every generation, there is a rapper that comes along that is so far left, they rub older generations the wrong way. In my lifetime, Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em was that guy, and for this generation, the avocado toast/Lamelo Ball-loving generation, Lil Pump is that guy. Today, Pump looks to prove he’s more than just a pip squeak that made it famous by glamorizing drugs and useless behavior with the release of “Harverd Dropout.” How will he do it?
