I probably love BJ The Chicago Kid’s music more than the next person does. I hear and see this level emotion in his music that is hard to ignore, especially when emphasizes the importance of approaching life and love like a grown up. These powerful sentiments drive “The Opening Ceremony” (more…)

You know what I was guilty of in the past? Thinking Rae Sremmurd would be just another gimmicky duo that wouldn’t get past slightly relevant in the rap game; well it looks like they proved me wrong. In present day hip hop, I believe they have been just as influential as any one of their peers, but for some odd reason, it seems like they never get the credit they deserve. With that being said, I expect “SR3MM” to be the album that elevates them to super star status, especially since they’ve been showing off what they are capable of doing on the solo tip as of late. In part 2 of my 3 part review for this album, I look at Swae Lee’s R&B inspired effort in “Swaecation.” (more…)

Ace A Caped Crusader (One of my favorite rap acts in the game) isn’t shy when it comes to creating music that comes from the heart. In his previous effort, “Whxte,” he got a chance to touch on high-strung subject matters such as lost love, growing pains, and family drama, approaching each with this vast level of realness. Blac Youngsta clearly doesn’t mind fitting into the stereotypes that comes with being a rapper: He’s loud, he’s reckless, and if you play with his money, he can become violent! But hey, we are all too serious sometimes, so why not listen to something a little more lighthearted for once, right? (more…)

Whether you like it or not, Migos are leaders of the hip hop world right now, and to me, they confirmed that in their previous album. Not only did "Culture" have a myriad of hits, but I feel like the style that the group rapped with on the album was also emulated by everybody and their mama! So, do you think that they will have the same impact with "Culture II?" Let's find out...

The most popular thing to do is to label a wild teen like XXXTENTACION as a waste of time to listen to; however, what I hear when I listen to him is an opportunity for a regular Joe like myself to enter into the mind of a rebellious teen that doesn’t care for the boxes that society wants to put him in. With ’17,’ X knows that it is his time to show the world how artistic he can be, and much to my surprise, he ends up spitting out a borderline masterpiece. (more…)

A$AP Mob stays true to themselves on "Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy." TOP 5 5. WHAT HAPPENS "What Happens" is a lyrically-charged banger. How unique is it that…

Shout-out to Harlem for bringing us A$AP Twelvyy! This underrated member of the original A$AP Mob has finally released his debut studio album for us, and it doesn’t disappoint at all! (more…)
