Dave East – Karma 2 (Album Review)

You know what I love about Dave East? He comes across like a lovable bad guy. Yes, he’s shot his gun plenty of times, talks about moving weight and treating chicks like objects, but he does it in a way that is so authentic, you can’t help but respect it. In “Karma 2,” I expect more of the same from the Harlem rapper, as he continues to balance commercial success with his hard-to-leave-behind street ties. (more…)

Merry Christmas everyone! Not only do we get to unwrap gifts today, but we also get to hear Wayne’s ‘Dedication 6’ album for the first time! Lil B – Black Ken (Mixtape Review)

So Lil B had a buzz at one time, and it was one of the weirdest ones to me: it was like no one took him seriously, but at the same time people had mad respect for him because he was a professional at not being serious (Confusing? Very!) Well with this Mixtape, theBasedGod looks to either remind people how historically bad he is, or surprise us with how not so bad he is. (more…)

Fetty Wap – Lucky No. 7 (Mixtape Review)

fetty-wap-lucky-no-7

I’m old enough to remember when Fetty Wap was nominated for a Grammy…. While I don’t expect such a catastrophic thing to happen again, Fetty is good enough to at least drop decent music right?
