Screen Shot 2018-03-25 at 11.14.23 AM.png

ChrisdaCEO is one successful dude. At the age of 20, he is already the CEO of DReaM TeaM and the Co-Founder of D.B.G Records. At this point, ChrisdaCEO’s business acumen demands all of our respect. In “Legacy II,” the Ohio native looks to impress us with his music, delivering this 12 track gem that has him dabbling in a myriad of genres. I look forward to the project, and anticipate being blown away with ChrisdaCEO’s versatility.

Lucius P. Thundercat – Black History Legend (Album Review)

It is clear that Lucius P. Thundercat believes in his people, dedicating this 10 track project titled “Black History Legend” to our community. I’m not mad at it either, because with all the f**kery going on in this world these days, we may need a hero for our people that is as gallant as Lucius is. (more…)

Ace A Caped Crusader – Whxte (Album Review)

Lets keep it all the way real: Ace A Caped Crusader is probably cooler than you and I. Seriously, when he raps, it is typically with this sly style that is as easy-going as it gets.  in “Whxte,” our hero lets us know that there is more to his story, as he gives us 9 tracks of heartfelt music that digs deep into his dark yet scintillating thoughts. XXXTENTACION – ? (Album Review)

ironically, XXXTENTACION’s album has several question marks associated with it: will X rap on it? will he further elaborate on his road through depression? will he address his rap critics? these are only a few of the questions that need an answer from me, and since it’s X we’re talking about here, i do expect some bizarre ass answers.

this album features joey bada$$, pnb rock, and travis barker. this review features a few capitalized letters and lots of “…’s”

Wale – It’s Complicated EP (Review)

Anyone else in favor of Wale making the full transition to rap crooner? I mean seriously, The DMV native has been dropping more relationship knowledge than the love guru himself lately, putting dudes on game to how the anatomy of a woman’s mind works. In his newest tape, “It’s Complicated,” he gives us four more tracks that aim to teach us the ins and outs of how to deal with a relationship when you enter that mature stage of your life. (more…)

YFN Lucci – Ray Ray From Summerhill (Album Review)

YFN Lucci’s name has been bubbling in the Hip Hop world these last couple of years, meaning it’s about time that he drops his long anticipated debut album “Ray Ray From Summerhill” for us this week. While I’ve praised him as my favorite rap preacher of all time in the past, I also believe he drops some of the most quality trap music out today, too. With that being said, I’ve placed some pretty hefty expectations on him for this album, as I anticipate the ATL rapper impressing us with infectious hooks, truthful bars and real ass content throughout. Its been a minute, Jeremih… I wonder what happened? Is it that the whole world was trying to jock your style, or were you cooking up something nice and bubbly for us to face plant into? Whatever the case may be, I missed listening to your lavish R&B music these past couple of months.  (more…)

Logic – Bobby Tarantino II (Mixtape Review)

Bobby Taratino 2.jpg

Last year, Logic got his sentimental album out the way with ‘Everybody’ — a project that focused on racial equality and practicing the act of kindness amongst each other. Today, it looks like he is back to his ass kicking ways, releasing the follow-up to his “Bobby Tarantino” Mixtape from 2015. If you didn’t know, his first Bobby Tarantino album was fiery, containing unapologetic bars, sick ass beats, and this care free version of the rapper that his day 1’s loved. I expect much of the same on this second installment, which might catch his new iHeartRadio ass fans off guard.

“Bobby Tarantino 2” features 2 Chainz, Big Sean & Wiz Khalifa

Lil Yachty – Lil Boat 2 (Album Review)

With his impact on songs like ‘Broccoli’ and ‘iSpy,’ you’d expect a Lil Yachty album to be of the same standard, right? Unfortunately not. Yachty failed to impress fans on his debut album ‘Teenage Expressions,’ dropping a body of work that most of the hip hop world thought was borderline putrid. Clearly upset by the reception, the 20-year-old artist feverishly began working on his sophomore album ‘Lil Boat 2,’ promising his fans that this would be one of his best works to-date. Ya’ll think he’s capable of redeeming himself?

This 17-track album includes appearances from 2 Chainz, Quavo, PnB Rock, Tee Grizzley, YoungBoy NBA, Lil Pump, Trippie Redd, and two features from Offset.  (more…)
