Tee Grizzley & Lil Durk – Bloodas (Album Review)

Tee-Grizzley-Lil-Durk-Bloodas-Cover-Feature

Tee Grizzley & Lil Durk are cut from the same cloth when it comes to the streets. However, they are a bit different when it comes to the musical side of things, as Tee typically decides to rap his bars with this gritty style while Durk usually chooses to slay his opponents using harmony. I’m curious to see how they mesh their styles together for a full project, especially considering how dominate each can be when they spit. (more…)

Juicy J – Rubba Band Business (Album Review)

Doesn’t it feel like we are forgetting about Juicy J’s impact on the game? I think his sound is a legendary one, and is critical to what hip hop has become today. Aside from that, Juicy has released some really solid projects these last couple of years, collaborating with some of the hottest in the game. With ‘Rubba Band Business’, I expect the same ol Juicy — one that isn’t afraid to both light one up and be the life of the party. Big Sean & Metro Boomin’ – Double Or Nothin (Album Review)

Metro Boomin’ has amazing chemistry with the superstar trappers of the world, but on the low, he has also been pretty good with the other guys that simply like to rap such as Big Sean. I feel like Metro’s enthralling trap beats help stimulate Sean’s competitive yet emotional side, which means the full body of work that is ‘Double or Nothing’ might end up being raps most entertaining diary of the year. Dram – Big Baby D.R.A.M. (Deluxe Edition) (Album Review)

D.R.A.M. DRAM is one goofy lookin’ muthaf–ka isn’t he? Over here looking like a big ass black dude that has had his body taken over by Lisa Simpson on the front cover of this album! But isn’t that what makes hip hop great? When we want to, Hip Hop could be fun, and that’s exactly what D.R.A.M.  DRAM brings to the game! With that being said, I think this has a good chance of being a really fun album.

Miguel – War & Leisure (Album Review)

What lots of you don’t know is that Miguel is one of my favorite artists of all time! I feel like his artistry is one that is highly unique, as he has this uncanny ability to mix the funkiness of neo-soul with the upbeat vibes of the R&B music of today. With this new album called ‘War & Leisure’, I have this feeling that Miguel wants to draw in a couple hip hop fans by dropping these infectious club hits. Is it possible this sound could be his most enjoyable? Lets find out!

Imani Wj Wright – Envious Affection (Album Review)

I’ve been saying it since day 1: Imani Wj Wright is destined to earn a Grammy! His style is pure, timeless, and most importantly, genuine. With his newest project titled, ‘Envious Affection’, the talented artist hailing from Baltimore, MD, shows the world that he’s more than capable of making a masterpiece revolving around the trials and tribulations that come with love. Fabolous & Jadakiss – Friday On Elm Street (Album Review)

It looks like the long overdue collaboration album between Jadakiss and Fabolous has finally made its way to the streets! While I am super excited about it, I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed that this project didn’t happen a couple years earlier. Nonetheless, both rappers have not lost a step in their solo careers, so I do expect fire! (more…)

Jaden Smith – SYRE (Album Review)

You know the term ‘Leaders of the New School?’ I truly think Jaden Smith is one of them! You can tell dude has no boundaries when it comes to his creativity, which I actually think can be emulated by a lot of up and coming brats that look to get their feet wet in Hip Hop. Well every leader needs their manual, so consider ‘Syre’ just that. (more…)

T-Pain – Oblivion (Album Review)

You know what T-Pain’s comeback story reminds me of? That one baller that dominated the game for 3 years, got traded to a bad team, disappeared from the face of the earth, only to reemerge as a very solid player on a championship caliber team. Now I’m not saying T-Pain is winning anything major right now, but these last 1-2 years he has been dropping some pretty quality music for us. With that being said, I think T-Pain deserves his new album ‘Oblivion’ to at least get a look from hip hop listeners everywhere. (more…)

CyHi The Prynce – No Dope On Sundays (Album Review)

AA7FB5CD-65B6-47A2-B6F9-560DAA04F8C3.jpeg

Let’s be real for a minute — Kanye and the great people at G.O.O.D. music hoarded CyHi’s s–t for years! For him to see all these other artists under the label release 2 – 3 albums before he even released his debut is atrocious to me! Here’s the silver lining though: For a gritty MC like CyHi, that boiling frustration probably translates to better music, which means his true fans might get something that would’ve been better than a premature release when he was first coming out. Does that soliloquy I just gave excite you for this debut album ‘No Dope On Sundays?’ if not, before Sunday, do more dope and read it again. (more…)
